The new edition of Key Terms in Second Language Acquisition defines the key terminology within second language acquisition, and also provides accessible summaries of the key issues within this complex area of study. The final section presents a list of key readings in second language acquisition that signposts the reader towards classic articles and also provides a springboard to further study. The whole book has been updated and expanded to take into account a wider range of theories and developments since the first edition. It remains at the top of its game.

This new volume addresses a number of important issues related to reading and writing that were not attended to in the previous volume, Deep Reading: Teaching Reading in the Writing Classroom (NCTE 2017)—especially those related to identity, culture, and positionality. In this volume the authors address the broad question of equity and social justice in the acquisition and practice of literacy, and the multifaceted lived reality of positionality related especially to race, class, language, and gender as experienced by students in the classroom.

The series serves to propagate investigations into language usage, especially with respect to computational support. This includes all forms of text handling activity, not only interlingual translations, but also conversions carried out in response to different communicative tasks. Among the major topics are problems of text transfer and the interplay between human and machine activities.

Der Band versammelt die Beitrage der internationalen und interdisziplinaren Tagung Zu Begriff und Problem der Philologie (ca. 1580 - ca. 1730) vom Juli 1998. Sie geben einen Einblick in die ideen-, sozial- und begriffsgeschichtlich konnotierte Wandlungsfahigkeit des Konzepts in der Fruhen Neuzeit und bestimmen den denkgeschichtlichen "Ort," den philologische Praxis in einigen konkreten Lebens- und Werkzusammenhangen zwischen Textkritik, Komparatistik und Polymathie in dem genannten Zeitraum eingenommen hat.
