Die Buchreihe Fruhe Neuzeit dient der Grundlagenforschung in Gestalt von Editionen, Monographien und Sammelbanden. Sie strebt nicht die groraumige Uberschau an, die vorschnelle Synthese oder pratentiose Konstruktion, sondern nimmt den Umweg uber die Arbeit am Detail und die Erkundung verschutteter Traditionszusammenhange.
