Diese Erkenntnisregel ist zunächst und vor allem eine Mitgliedschaftsregel. Sie legt fest, wer als Mitglied des Systems angesehen wird und in welchen Rollen diese Mitgliedschaft ausgeübt werden kann. Durch Personalauswahl und Rollendefinition wird die Organisation gegen das sie umgebende sonstige Soziale abgegrenzt und ausdifferenziert.
