Volume 43 of Group III deals with crystallographic data of both intermetallic and classical inorganic compounds. It thus forms an update of the former Landolt-Bornstein volumes III/6 (Structure Data of Elements and Intermetallic Phases) and III/7 (Crystal Structure Data of Inorganic Compounds). It does not include compounds that contain C-H bonds. In contrast to the earlier edition the present volume presents the data in a more modern arrangement.

This index is a guide to organic compounds which have material constants of general interest described in the Landolt-Bornstein / New Series. In total in the subvolumes J, K, L and M, 23865 compounds with 83941 references to numerical data are recorded. Compiled are volumes containing nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) data, acoustical and optical properties, structure and molecular constants, mechanical and thermodynamic constants as well as physical properties of liquid crystals. All new compounds are given with the drawing of the chemical structure,...

Polymers belong to an essential material group with many applications not only for polymer manufacturers but also in physics, chemistry, medicine and engineering techniques. The presented volume is the second part of a book series connecting a complete data collection with short but precise descriptions of the different quantities and their significances. The experimental determination of the physical quantities is given as well as the influence to other physical quantities. This volume helps to choose the best material for all kinds of applications also for those which are not mentioned...

This is subvolume C of the Landolt-Bornstein Volume II/29 "Molecular Constants Mostly from Microwave, Molecular Beam, and Sub-Doppler Laser Spectroscopy," which is planned to appear as a series A, B, C and D1 and D2 for the diamagnetic, and E for the paramagnetic linear and polyatomic species, respectively. Like in the preceding volumes II/19 and II/24, which have appeared in 1992 and 1999, the diamagnetic substances are arranged in the manner suggested by Hill ("Hill's system," 1900), meaning an almost strict alphabetical order; details are given in the General Introduction on the following...

The magnetic properties of silicates and phosphates are compiled in subvolume 27I. While subvolumes 27I1, 27I2, 27I3, 27I4, 27I5 and 27I6 (already published) deal with orthosilicates, sorosilicates, cyclosilicates, inosilicates, and phyllosilicates, respectively, the present subvolume 27I7 deals with phosphates.

Volume 11 of group IV presents phase diagrams, crystallographic and thermodynamic data of ternary alloy systems. The subvolume D deals with iron systems, with part 1 considering selected systems from Al-B-Fe to C-Co-Fe. The volume forms a comprehensive review and rigorous systematization of the presently available data. For each system the often conflicting literature and information has been thoroughly evaluated by a team of experts and is presented in a standard format.

In the 1970s Landolt-Bornstein published a series of volumes containing crystallographic data for organic (III/5 Str- ture Data of Organic Crystals), intermetallic (III/6 Structure Data of Elements and Intermetallic phases) and inorganic compounds (III/7 Crystal Structure Data of Inorganic Compounds). During the 30 years that have passed, the expe- mental methods leading to a complete structure determination have considerably improved and the large number of cr- tal structures known today justi?es the publication of a new compilation. The present volume will cover both intermetallic and...

The sub series Ternary Alloy Systems of the Landolt Bornstein New Series provides reliable and comprehensive descriptions of the materials constitution, basedo ncritical intellectual evaluationso fall data available at the time and it critically weights the different findings, also with respect to their compatibility with today s edge binary phase diagrams. Selected are ternary systems of importance to alloy development and systems which gained in the recent years otherwise scie ntific interest. In one ternary materials system, however, one may find alloys for various applications, depending...

The last few decades have been called the Golden Age of Astronomy . The rapid increase of knowledge in the field necessitates publishing a new edition of the Astronomy and Astrophysics volumes of the Landolt-Boernstein. The title is now Astronomy, Astrophysics, and Cosmology . Cosmology has been added in order to make allowances for the increasing role of extragalactic astrophysics and cosmology. The present volume VI/4B on the Solar System is the first to be published of the new series. Volume VI/4A on Instruments and Methods will follow soon. Additional volumes on Stars, the Galaxy,...
