In this book, Samir Sobhy presents for the first time a selection of poems in Arabic, classical and colloquial, written between 2010 and 2013. Though he had already published poems in other languages (English, French, and Spanish), he had never published poems in Arabic. The book is divided into two sections: classical and Egyptian-colloquial Arabic. The classical section contains an important part inspired by Haiku, the minimalist Japanese form which is characterized by strict norms, such as presenting an idea or a story. The subjects dealt with are varied, especially in the classical Arabic section. The poems in the colloquial section are rather humorous, dealing with, love, emotions, separation, etc., while those in the classical section are more serious.
