Lensfogger's BEST -A Super-Hero's Collection of Humor, Satire and Short Stories As the name implies, Lensfogger's BEST is a collection of twenty-one works. Some are just frivolous, but most are intended to entertain and impart a message or two. A few are intensely serious based on the author's experiences. The many voices of the renowned photo/journalist, Dodger Lensfogger, narrate our way through this magnificent journey. Every super-hero has an alter-ego. Dodger Lensfogger is no different, except that he has multiple identities and speaks with many voices. Dodger's characters routinely surface in response to situations or people, who interest him, whether he finds them stimulating, challenging or even offensive. He writes about himself or others in the first person or third person, whatever feels best for the story. He also allows no limits to his inspiration or writing style. Each work, whether whimsical, a touch off-color or intensely serious must be appreciated on its individual merits and intent. I accurately refer to my friend, Dodger Lensfogger, as a super-hero because he wields his mighty camera and potent words to expose the truth wherever it lies buried under layers of wicked distortions and deceits. He celebrates the humanity of those who live in the darkness of poverty and pain of repression. He is a soldier for peace and justice for us all who must live together on our small planet. No worthy cause or desperate call for help ever goes unanswered. Regardless of the danger and personal sacrifice that may be required, Dodger tilts the battle against whatever evils lurk among us. Dodger's prowess is extraordinary but very real - not like those comic book characters that are created merely to entertain. He does not conquer all through a convenient, but unbelievable mutant physical deviance. Dodger's perceptive wit, subtle satire and self-depreciating humor lead each of us on a path to human greatness. All we must do is implement his philosophies and honorable standards of behavior into our daily lives. Amazingly, Dodger sees nothing unusual in his incredible talents. "I just follow the voices in my head," he says. "Doesn't everybody?" And despite his many successes, he remains a truly humble man who asks for nothing in return for his selfless actions, except for perhaps a wave or friendly smile as he journeys forever onward. Finally, Dodger finds it difficult to let these stories be exposed to the reading public. He generally lives a reclusive life and does not want the notoriety that no doubt will be focused his way. He could only be convinced to publish Lensfogger's BEST on the assurance that his principles of ethics and decency will be spread to a broad audience around the world. In that way, he hopes his tireless efforts will achieve an even greater good for all mankind.
