This book takes a holistic approach to answering the question, 'How can ICT be used to enhance teaching and learning in different settings and across different subjects?' The book weaves together evidence of teachers’ and learners’ experiences of ICT outside school, how policy and management issues impact on learning in the classroom, how teachers view the subjects they teach, and what actually happens in the classroom when ICT is integrated into teaching and learning.

The authors explain why the process of integrating ICT into teaching and learning is not straightforward. As well as celebrating the successes, they articulate the challenges that arise and must be faced if the full potential of ICTs in teaching and learning is to be realised.  They stress the importance both of being able to imagine the potential of particular technologies for learning and of taking the risk of experimenting with ICT in the classroom.
