Two magnetic nanoparticles coated with either folic acid or palmitic acid were prepared and their interaction with the prolactin were studied extensively. These nanoparticls can efficiently extract prolactin from solution with very low desorption percentage. The adsorption isotherms followed the Freundlich model indicating a heterogeneity of the active sites of the prepared magnetic nanoparticles.
