There is an association between major depression and schizophrenia with the proinflammatory cytokines. In the present work, IL-6, IL-18, TNF-alpha, & sIL_2r were estimated in both psychiatric disorders. The findings may indicate that these disorders are inflammatory in nature. Furthermore, the results may provide indicator that anti-inflammatory drugs may be used as assistant in treating these disorders.

Two magnetic nanoparticles coated with either folic acid or palmitic acid were prepared and their interaction with the prolactin were studied extensively. These nanoparticls can efficiently extract prolactin from solution with very low desorption percentage. The adsorption isotherms followed the Freundlich model indicating a heterogeneity of the active sites of the prepared magnetic nanoparticles.

The present study aimed to determine changes in serum fetuin-A levels in preeclampsia (PE). Furthermore, this study aimed to investigate whether serum fetuin-A is correlated with insulin resistance state, calcium and magnesium level, and serum proteins. The following paremeters were measured; Fetuin-A, insulin, glucose, total and ionized calcium and magnesium, total protein, albumin, and globulin levels in their sera.
