Alvarez’s Unraveling, one may conclude that society would be much better off if ‘the asylum’ was run by the alleged inmates—or at least empathetic people who have been there, done that, and come back from the edge. He is the recipient of an Outstanding Creative Project/Performance Award from the National Communication Association, Asian/Pacific American Studies Division and Caucus.
