The symposium is organized by the Department of Mining Engineering and Metallurgy of the National University of Athens and the Department of Metallurgy and Mining of the University of Idaho. Residual soils are found in many parts of the world. Like other soils, they are used extensively in construction, either to build upon, or as construction material.
