This new six-volume Major Work from Edition Synapse brings together for the first time Yone Noguchi s works in English, including all of his books of poetry, novels, and literary essays.

This set provides the first facsimile collection of Judith Gautier s Japonism or Orientalism writings (all in French), which have long been out of print since her death in 1917. Judith Gautier was the daughter of the famous French author, Theophile Gautier. She started studying Chinese after her visit to the Great Exposition in London in 1862 and published her first novel, Le dragon imperial, in 1869, which featured China as the main subject. Later, she transferred her interest to Japan and together with Pierre Loti she became a central figure in the boom of Japonism in Paris.

This is a facsimile reprint of fourteen books bound in six volumes. It is the second collection of the series of conduct books published during Victorian America.

The collection includes fourteen items in total (including numerous illustrations and plates, reprinted here) which were originally published in the mid-nineteenth century mainly for a juvenile readership. It includes reading books, educational books, poetry books, and picture books by well-known juvenile and educational book authors such as Lydia Sigourney, William Alcott, T. S. Arthur, and Horace Mann, among others.

It brings together primary-source materials on the Japan-British Exhibition of 1910 held at London's Shepherd's Bush from 14 May to 29 October 1910. It was the largest international exposition that the Empire of Japan had participated in to date, and was driven by a desire in Japan to develop a more favourable public image in Great Britain following the renewal of the Anglo-Japanese Alliance.
