This volume features selected papers presented at the first French-Moroccan Mathematics Days (F2MDays'23) held at the Abdelmalek Essaadi University, Morocco 2023. During these days, a variety of scientific activities involving training, workshops, and international conferences on scientific mediation, applied mathematics, innovation, and didactics of mathematics where held. The event provided an opportunity to build bridges between mathematical communities, reinforce existing international cooperation, and initiate new ones, hence contributing to the outreach of all involved parties.

In recent years several investigations have been devoted to the study of large classes of (mainly degenerate) initial-boundary value evolution problems in connection with the possibility to obtain a constructive approximation of the associated positive C_0-semigroups.

In this research monograph we present the main lines of a theory which finds its root in the above-mentioned research field.

This book presents a comprehensive study of boundary value problems for linear and semilinear second order elliptic equations with measure data, especially semilinear equations with absorption. The book is the first systematical treatment of the theory of finite elements in Archimedean vector lattices and contains the results known on this topic up to the year 2013. It joins all important contributions achieved by a series of mathematicians that can only be found in scattered in literature.
