Sixteen years have passed since the first Leiden Conference on Mononuclear Phagocytes. That first meeting led to new nomenclature, i. e., the Mononuclear Phagocytes System (MPS), which was published in the Bulletin of the World Health Organization (R. van Furth, et aI., Bull.
