Centavo is a dog born on the streets in a small community in Baja on the Sea of Cortez. The story is about the struggles of dogs in Mexico without families and how they survive together. When she is around two years old Centavo is picked up along the beach, where she lives, by an American couple, adopted and brought back to the US to live in a mountain city called Flagstaff in Arizona.
