2-Thiophenecarboxylic acid hydrazide has been treated with benzaldehyde in 1:1 molar ratio at room temperature in the presence of a suitable solvent to yield Schiff base. Then it has been treated with R2SnCl2/R3SnCl in 1:1 molar ratio to synthesize organotin(IV) complexes under reflux conditions. Organotin(IV) complexes have been characterized by FT-IR and semi-empirical study.
