In accordance with section 17 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act, as amended, and the Government Corporation Control Act, we are responsible for conducting audits of the financial statements of the funds administered by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).

FHWA plays a key role in funding and overseeing the completion of highway projects. In addition to providing financial assistance and establishing standards for state DOTs to build and improve highways and roads, FHWA-through its division office in each state-provides technical expertise and fulfills oversight functions. State and local governments execute the programs by matching and distributing federal funds; planning, selecting, and supervising projects; and complying with federal requirements.

The PPA set stricter standards for appraisals and appraiser qualifications, established a penalty on appraisers who prepared appraisals that improperly supported deductions on income taxes, and lowered the threshold for determining certain misstatements of value on certain tax returns.

The current U.S. export control system seeks to limit sensitive items from falling into the wrong hands and, at the same time, allow legitimate trade to occur.
