No Boxes is made up of two parts. The first section is an over view of an Australian soldier. Covering his beginnings, his service in Australia and overseas, i.e. one tour spanning a little over two years in Malaya and Borneo, prior to the formation of Malaysia and during Indonesia's attempts to stop that formation. In that period he spent over eighteen months in the "J" i.e. jungle. The two tours he endured in South Vietnam were twelve months apiece.
