This is a true story of coming of age in the 1960s as a military dependent, originally from Puerto Rico, in an overseas melting pot of multiple cultures. Except for my somewhat unusual early childhood, hundreds, if not thousands, of similar stories could be told by others who spent their teen years in overseas American boarding high schools.
