The Second International Symposium on "The Influence of Antibiotics on the Host Parasite Relationship" was held in Munich, F. R. G., from March 28 to 30,1985. The publication of this third international symposium includes 37 contributions on the interaction of antibiotics, microbial agents, and host defence mechanisms. Various aspects of possible interactions are discussed based on in vitro and animal experiments; the book clearly underlines the growing importance of this new field of research. The data presented will influence not only the research specialist but also the clinician to reconsider the role of these interactions in antimicrobial therapy.
