The amount of available video content has increased dramatically in the past 5 years. This book constitutes the proceedings of the 8th International ICST Conference, TridentCom 2012, held in Thessanoliki, Greece, in June 2012. Out of numerous submissions the Program Committee finally selected 51 full papers.
