Inhaltsangabe: Zusammenfassung: Das T1 zugrunde liegende Ubersetzungssystem METAL wird in seiner Entwicklung und Funktionsweise beschrieben. T1 wird daraufhin aus Nutzersicht untersucht. Dazu werden charakteristische Defizite, die bei der Ubersetzung verschiedener linguistischer Phanomene vom Englischen ins Deutsche auftreten, aufgezeigt.
