Born in Birmingham, Al May 10, 1954, my family moved to Alexandria, La. when I was about 10 years old. It was at that time when I developed a strong passion for gospel music. At the age of 12 I recorded my first solo album. Before my 16th birthday I was performing with a full time professional group. I finished my last two years of high school on the road.
