Born in Birmingham, Al May 10, 1954, my family moved to Alexandria, La. when I was about 10 years old. It was at that time when I developed a strong passion for gospel music. At the age of 12 I recorded my first solo album. Before my 16th birthday I was performing with a full time professional group. I finished my last two years of high school on the road. During this period I managed to juggle schedules and attend LSU once I had graduated high school. I climbed to the top of the southern gospel music field. I ended up living in Nashville traveling across the US for over ten years. At the age of 26 I decided to end my career in gospel music. It was at that time when I started mastering the art of sales, motivation, inspiration, and leadership. I realized a few years ago that the issue of excess worry was robbing me of peace of mind. That was when I decided to write this book, hoping to find an answer regarding worry. As I started writing and reflecting back on my life, I discovered that worry was only one of the issues. I found that we have to maintain a well balanced life in every aspect if we are to have peace of mind. Looking back on all the battles won and all the battles lost, there were lessons learned along the way. With the support of loving family, friends, and great teachers I came up with my 12 Step Program to peace each day. I have found that life is not that complicated, it's we as humans that complicate things. For me simplicity is the best way to live. One of my favorite quotes is "To be simple is to be Great"-Ralph Waldo Emerson. I believe in setting goals and having the things we want in life but my definition of success has nothing to do with material rewards. My definition of success is "Peace of Mind Everyday." Once you live in a state of peace each day, everything else will follow. One definition of passion is "boundless enthusiasm." At this stage of the game my passion is to share with as many people possible steps they can take to be happy and be the best they can be.
