This study was carried out in a government college for women,affiliated to Pondicherry University, India. A self administered questionnaire was developed to assess the personal competency and academic competencies. Emotional Quotient (EQ) was the personal competency that was used. The sample size was 110. Results were statistically analysed wherever needed. Mean,percentages and illustrations were sparingly used.
