Hepatitis "C" Virus can cause both acute and chronic infections the acute process is self limited, rarely causes hepatic failure and leads to chronic infection. As hepatitis C is asymptomatic in early stages of disease because patients are unaware that they are infected and patients usually present late and then they are not eligible to take antiviral therapy. Further patients will develop hepatocellular carcinoma, progressive liver disease and end stage liver disease. The present study concludes that mostly the patients of HCV in North India present late for antiviral therapy. The reason behind that it is very costly and patients are not affordable to antiviral therapy. Therefore HCV is usually asymptomatic at treatable stage so proper awareness about the disease and there prevention should be done to increase the quality of life of patients.
