Silk Industries of Rajshahi district in Bangladesh is very popular from Mughal era in Indian sun-continent. However, with time being it became ignored and loosing its contribution from our economy. The current status is more or less unknown to economist and government authorities. However, this could be a great economic sector for developing countries like Bangladesh. I just tried to focus the current status and suggested some ways to make it more resourceful.

According to the United Nations FAO, land use concerns the products and/or benefits obtained from use of the land as well as the land management actions (activities) carried out by humans to produce those products and benefits. The population of the world is increasing at a geometric rate. But the land is not increasing, in fact, it is static. In this reason to make the optimum use of the existing land, it is very necessary to use the land in proper way. This using the land in proper way to extract its optimum ability is known as sustainable land-use.

This book has been designed considering differentaspects of environment viz. topography, hydrology,sedimentology & vegetation consists of geomorphicstructure, river hydraulics, vegetation status. Mostof study is based on primary data collected form thecoastal district Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh which has the world'slongest sea beach and a place of great attraction oftourists from different parts of the world.
