A Veteran rides solo from North Carolina to Chicago where Route 66 originates. He visits 8 Veteran Hospitals from Chicago to Los Angeles, donating copies of his book that he wrote. Most of the hospitals are close to or on some portion of the famous Route 66. The book is based on his ride with Run For The Wall in 2011 in which he rides with the group from Los Angeles to the Vietnam Memorial in Washington D.C. Through the kindness of strangers, he resolves pinned up feelings and receives the welcome home that he has been waiting 40 years for. The book has helped him and many other veterans and their families understand and cope with issues that stay locked away and never spoken about. He will be visiting patients in the hospital and assuring them they are not forgotten and personally sign and give a book to them.
