The title, Nahollo Topah, a loose translation of the Choctaw Indian language meaning white bed, addresses one of the many fatal flaws of human nature: desire. Forensic science becomes the nucleus that drives circuitous routes through those human desires that are driven by the involvement of a corrupted medical examiner and an inept forensic scientist in what was classified as an accidental death. Thrown into the mix are rapists and murderers who could have been the cause of the alleged accident. The overall question in this fictional tale asks of a malignant human desire: "What would you trade to get what you want?"
