In ayurveda, most of the drugs were given in the form of powder, kasaya (decoction form) or bhasma. In present study, topical formulations were prepared for local effect. The main objective of present study was to develop semisolid dosage form of Panchatikta extract using emulsifying ointment BP and Carbopol-941 as a base. The work was focused on reducing the total dosage size and incorporating more amounts of active principles in the dosage form.
