Long non coding RNA are molecules synthesized from non-coding protein zones of the genomes. The so called dark side of the genome represents up to 98% of the human genome and recent data have shown that an enormous number or long non coding RNA are indeed generated. Pioneer works have shown that some of those non-coding RNA play fundamental role in cellular identity, development and cancer progression. They are now widely studied to understand their non-coding protein potential. Antonin Morillon is a CNRS group leader at the Institut Curie, whose team is interested in non-coding RNA, epigenetics and genome fluidity. His main research focuses on the regulatory roles of non-coding RNA and their potential in cancer diagnosis and prognosis
