This is a report on the excavation of a Neolithic causewayed enclosure - possibly amongst the largest of its class. Although there are many cropmarks in the area, no trace of this enclosure had been seen and its discovery was unexpected. The earthworks probably remained visible into the Bronze Age, when a pond barrow and several ring ditches were built within the enclosure. In the Middle Iron Age enclosures, trackways and a settlement covered the site.
