The effect of Locus of Control (LOC) on L2 learners achievement has scarcely been examined within the context of Iran. Concerning the general shape of the book what characterizes each unit of the present book is a novel introduction of a mixture of borrowing ideas from different new developing disciplines such as psycholinguistics and advances in vocabulary acquisition research to rethorically rich language of literature. An important feature of each unit is the inclusion of a picture for each lexical entry. Also, in giving more explicit description of words related to each lexical entry, the book uses concept mapping to bring into more focus the centrality of the word in each unit.
