Anne Fanshawe (1625 - 1680) was an English memoirist. In 1644 she married her second cousin Richard Fanshawe (1608-1666). After the Restoration he held various appointments, and was Ambassador to Portugal and then to Spain successively. He served as Member of Parliament for Cambridge University from 1661 until his death in Madrid. Richard was Secretary of War to Prince Charles.
