In the bloody Civil War Battle of Shiloh in western Tennessee two soldiers are among the many thousands wounded or killed. One, shot and his leg broken, is a Yankee, Stanley Mitchell. The other is Aaron Matthews, a Confederate, mortally wounded, the son of a local Christian family.
