The very existence of the pixy race is being threatened by the terrible creatures known as hobs. With only a small army, the pixies must depend on the magic of the Heptad as they prepare for war. To help save her people, Ruby must utilize her magic dagger. However, there is a problem; she can no longer control the weapon. With help from the other wielders of the powerful Heptad, Ruby must find a way to control her magic dagger, defeat the hobs, and become the sorceress she is destined to be.

Even though Ruby feels like a normal pixy, there is one thing that sets her apart; she doesn't have any wings. After her mother tells her of the Oracle, a magical place where visitors can have a single question answered, the young pixy sets out on a dangerous journey to locate the mysterious place. Carrying only a magic dagger, her grandfather's map and an enchanted pack, and accompanied by her ornery older sister, Ruby encounters numerous monsters and overcomes multiple trials in her quest to gain the one thing she desires most; wings.

A full season has passed since Ruby made her journey to the Oracle and received her wings. Now she finds herself being sent on another quest; this time to save her people instead of herself. The hideous creatures known as hobs draw closer to attacking the pixies, and there is only one way to stop them. After learning that the stone set in the hilt of her dagger is one of seven powerful and magical artifacts; Ruby, along with Blade, and their fairy friend Snik, leaves on a mission to recover the missing stones.
