Have you ever thought about reflecting on the reasons for making the life decisions that you have made so far? When my son asked me to write a book about why I made the decisions I had made during my life, I found myself reflecting on my decision-making process. Not only did it take me on an emotional journey, but it created an awareness in doing so. Power, politics, ego, status, tradition, and survival all played a part in shaping my life. Looking back, I would not have changed the decisions that I made. Looking forward, I will have a better understanding of why.

In 1992, I kept a notebook observing other people and situations for a twelve month period. It is not only observations, but my own philosophies I used the format from Hugh Prather's book, Notes to Myself, because I liked the thought-provoking comments that were shared in Hugh's book.
