Normal labor is a crucial physiological process in a woman's life, necessitating ongoing evaluation and intervention. Aim: This study evaluated the impact of an instructional package on maternity nurses' knowledge, practices, and attitudes concerning nursing care in the first stage of normal labor. Design: A quasi-experimental design (one group pre-posttest) was employed at Beni-Suef University Hospital and Beni-Suef Specialist Hospital, involving a convenience sample of 50 maternity nurses. Tools: Data collection utilized three instruments: a structured interview questionnaire, an observational checklist for assessing practices, and a tool for measuring attitudes. Results: Significant improvements were observed in nurses' knowledge, practices, and attitudes pre and post-implementation of the instructional package, alongside positive correlations among these scores. Conclusion: The instructional package positively influenced the competencies of maternity nurses in caring for women during the first stage of normal labor, validating the research hypotheses. Recommendations include periodic sessions to further enhance the knowledge and practices of maternity nurses.
