HANS SAHL (1902 geboren) mußte als jüdischer Autor 1933 von Berlin aus über Prag und Zürich nach Frankreich flüchten. Er brach dort mit den Stalin-nahen Schriftstellern, war mit etwa 20 Autoren Mitbegründer des 'Bundes Freie Presse und Literatur' und organisierte von Marseille aus mit dem Amerikaner Varian Fry die Flucht von 2400 Intellektuellen vor den Nazis, ehe er selbst über Portugal in die USA entkam. In the last 10 years a proliferation of information concerning the lantibiotics and related peptide antibiotics has come to the fore. This is the first book to summarize this information comprehensively and concisely. Unlike other reviews, which consider the lantibiotics in isolation, this book brings together for the first time the concepts and interrelationships between lantibiotics and other antibiotics, bacteriocins and antimicrobial peptides.
