After his marriage to Agnete falls apart he becomes the 'host' at a mountain chapel where migrating Sami reindeer herders spend Easter and Christmas. He's mainly responsible for a group sauna where 11 people die from the cold. He becomes friends with a Sami family and has a relationship with their younger daughter who is much younger than Olle. After less than a year Olle told he isn't the right person to be host. He heads south perhaps to get together with Agnete who has written to him several times."
