My enjoyment of collecting adages goes back to my late teens when my salesman father showed me his pocket notebook filled with quotations whilst he traveled, hither and yon. As a school teacher, I continued this linguistic love affair by writing a daily quote on the front board. Upon retirement, I started making illustrated anthologies into small books to give as gifts to friends.
