This book is a theoretical study that attempts to examine some key concepts which I believe Muhyiddin Ibn Arabi and Hans-Georg Gadamer focus on in their formulation of a general philosophy of hermeneutics. The key concepts under study include fundamentally but not exclusively concepts of interpretation, language, poetry and beauty. The conceptual framework within which I explore the aforementioned concepts is comparative.I believe that a comparative approach is very practical since I intend in the first place to explore aspects of similarities and differences as they pertain to each scholar's understanding of different concepts. The main motives behind this selection consist in a grounded belief that the set of concepts I intend to probe, if critically and elaborately examined, permits an overall comprehension of the philosophical thought of the scholars under study. The book is composed of four themed chapters which I chose to consider on the basis of their level of importance in informing the subsequent issues.
