The notion of residual properties has been introduced by Philip Hall in 1954. This book concentrates on the residual solvability of group, particularly residual solvability of generalized free products of different classes of groups, including nilpotent and free groups. It provides introductory definitions and facts on nilpotent, solvable, residual solvable, free groups, different type of products of the groups and the connection between these terms.
