Safe water and sanitation are linked with better living. Health benefits from suitable quality and availability of water, adequate sanitation facilities and improved hygiene behaviour. We established the link with water sources and its quality, sanitation and hygiene condition in Patiya Upazila, Chittagong of Bangladesh. Primary information was collected through questionnaire surveys, Household Survey (HHS), Key Informants Interview (KII), experts opinion, water sample collection and analysis for the investigation of water quality parameters. Secondary information was collected from pertinent health and water institutions. The study result reveals that Patiya depends on both groundwater and surface water for domestic and drinking purposes. Drinking water quality is acceptable despite Total Suspended Solids is higher than standard level though surface water which is being used in other domestic purposes is going to be contaminated in view of water quality parameters such as Total Coliform. Most of people are using katcha (made with clay) and exposed latrines. Due to the unhygienic practices and unavailable health care facilities, health situation is in adverse condition.
