Further, the study might inform policy makers, development partners and civil society organizations regarding the formulation and designation of the most appropriate and relevant basic education policies and programmes in order to improve performance in public primary schools.

Carolyne A. Chabaga is currently a PhD student in Educational Planning at Kenyatta University at the Department of Educational Management, Policy and Curriculum Studies. She holds an M.Ed. degree in Educational Planning from the same University. Carolyne also holds a B.Ed. (Hons.) degree from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA).
