This volume presents four early works by Vives: De initiis sectis et laudibus philisophiae (On the Origins, Schools and Merits of Philosophy); Veritas fucata (Painted Truth); Anima senis (the Soul of an Old Man); and Pompeius fugiens (Pompey in Flight).
