Bonnie Herman Hendrix is a native of North Carolina. Born in the small foothills town of Lenoir, NC, she spent most of her youth here before moving to the outskirts as a teenager. Living in Caldwell County her entire life, except for two years with her family in Ohio during WWII and three years in Asheville, NC while in nurses' training, she continues to be actively involved with family, friends and relatives. This collection of memories of her family, the Lenoir area and work experiences as a RN at both Dula Hospital and Memorial Hospital, are her treasures to pass along to others. They contain love, humor, hard work and dedication to family and community, which she has exemplified over decades of life from living through the Great Depression of the 1930s to today's current age of technology.
