There is a growing concern about the regional disparities which exists at the international, national as well as at the state levels. Though the regional disparity in agriculture, industrial development, and socioeconomic development was much studied but the disparities in the dairy sector has not given much emphasis. Hence, the present study entitled "A Study on Regional Disparities in Dairy Development in Maharashtra" was undertaken with some specific objectives.

Milk provides food or more specifically animal protein in human diets, income, employment and possibly foreign exchange. Assuming dominant enterprise in milk supply chain, one from co-operative and one from private milk processing plants were selected randomly in western Maharashtra to compare the milk production, procurement, processing and distribution marketing aspects and whole milk supply chain performance under co-operative and private milk supply chain.

Grape is one of the most important fruit crops of the world and contains many of the valuable ingredients necessary for life. It is also one of the important horticultural crops grown in India. Exports are must for economic growth of any country. The grape export from India was started in the year 1991 after economic liberalization. Total area under grape in India is 63700 ha. with production of 1667.7 thousand tonnes and export of about 85897.78 tonnes (5.15 per cent of total production) in the year 2006-07.
