Peter Salmon began studying the natural world as a child. His father often took him to the zoo and natural history museum. He spent his summers visiting his grandmother and helping in her garden in Vermont. He studied art at the Brooklyn Museum and Boston University. Peter has been painting in the Poconos of Pennsylvania and in Southern Vermont since 1960. His wife, Linda, is a gardener, librarian, and retired first grade teacher. They have three children and eight grandchildren, all of whom were raised on nature, gardening, art, and ABC games.
