Celia Oyler was a classroom teacher for 15 years in Connecticut, Vermont, and Chicago where she worked in inclusive urban and rural classrooms. She obtained her Ph.D. in Curriculum Theory and Design from the University of Illinois-Chicago in 1993. Professor Oyler makes her home in New York City and is in the faculty of Curriculum and Teaching at Teachers College, Columbia University.
